Community Organizer / Outreach Volunteer

  • Connect with the community: Talk to neighbors, local groups, learn, and build trust.  Show up for community events when you can.
  • Spread the Word: Share info about events and campaigns through email, flyers, and social media.
  • Support Events: Help plan and run meetings, rallies, trainings, and more.
  • Speak Up: Share stories-your own or others-to raise awareness and inspire action.
  • Build Relationships: Help find and support new leaders in the community.
  • Keep Track: Collect contact info and help update outreach lists

Communications Team Volunteer

Are you a strong writer, designer, or storyteller?  Join our Communications Team and help shape how we share our message, grow our movement, and keep our community informed and inspired.  This is a great opportunity to use your creative skills for a good cause-and work with a supportive, collaborative team. Multi-lingual expertise is not required, but a great plus.

 

Roles Include:

  • Website Design & Implementation: Help build and maintain our website.
  • Newsletter Writing and Formatting: Help write and design a short weekly email newsletter that shares our upcoming events, action alerts, and community updates.
  • Support content for our causes: Create or update content for our website and email communications that communicates our focus areas in clear accessible language.
  • Graphic Designer: Design social media graphics, flyers, and digital content.  Help create branded merchandise like banners, buttons, and T-shirts to support our campaigns.

Member Support

If you are a people person and interested in helping Boston Indivisible members stay up to date, we have an opportunity for you.

 

Roles Include: 

  • Mentoring: Help new members get up-to-speed and involved. Be their point of contact for questions and help them navigate the uncomfortable part of joining a new organization.
  • Member Onboarding: Help us respond quickly and efficiently to new member requests.  Send welcome emails, run orientation presentations, and assign mentors. This is a great role for someone with sharp organizational skills
  • Recruitment: Help sign up new members at events across the Boston area.      Answer questions, provide information about our newsletter and website.  Help us improve how we "Table" at events, where we Table, and what we should bring.
  • Help us diversify our membership by connecting in more communities.

Rapid Response Team

Are you comfortable being out on the front lines and helping defend democracy? We are looking for volunteers across the Boston area who are willing to help us develop a Rapid Response program.  The intent is to have a localize alert system to send message when we hear of activity in a town or neighborhood.  Please note Rapid Response responders are not asked to interfere with an activity, but document it, provide information to those impacted and let the perpetrators of the activity know we are watching. Roles Include:

  • Process Design & Development:  Help put together the process flow for how notifications go out, how we track participation, and results.
  • Technology integration: Help us select the tools to best support our process, secure our communications, and support our respondents during a Rapid Response event.
  • Neighborhood Leaders: Become a point of contact for the team in your neighborhood.  That does not mean you would respond to every event, but be a point of contact for those opting into the Rapid Response system.

Fundraising Committee

The fundraising committee needs help developing strategies for raising funds – any previous fundraising experience is particularly appreciated! Click the Contact Me button and Marybeth will get back to you to discuss details.

College Networks

Looking for someone to take the lead or help in organizing outreach to area schools. Click Contact Me and someone will get back to you.

Events Committee

Currently looking for a couple people to help brainstorm ideas and organize events. The events committee organizes internal community-building activities and collaborates with other organizations on larger events. Click the Contact Me button and Martha will get back to you to discuss details.
