Building a Stronger Democracy Through
Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)
Defending democracy requires more than public actions. It requires building an activist movement that represents and protects everyone. BI launched the JEDI Working Group to turn that principle into practice. This member-led group will shape our internal culture and external partnerships.
Our initial goals include the following items.
Build strong relationships with local Boston social justice groups.
Work with other BI teams to keep our activist spaces welcoming and inclusive.
Partner with regional justice groups to drive change through nonviolent direct action.

Heather is the author of The Sum of Us, What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together in which she makes the case for cross racial solidarity and economic justice for all.
